Dr. Mohd Jamal Alsharif is a remarkable humanitarian and lifelong volunteer whose impact extends across Canada and around the world with more than 1000 hours annualy. Since arriving in Canada, he has devoted more than 20 years to serving diverse communities, including Japanese, Indian, Pakistani, Arab, Palestinian, Chinese, Yemeni, Ukrainian, Latino, and many others. He has worked tirelessly to support newcomers, with a special focus on children suffering from PTSD and trauma caused by war.

Internationally, Dr. Alsharif has participated and volunteered in numerous medical missions, providing life-changing surgeries for children born with cleft lips and palates around the globe. He has also dedicated himself to building two schools in Madagascar and supporting education initiatives in refugee camps worldwide, ensuring access to education for the most vulnerable.

As the founder of Humans for Peace Institution, a global volunteer organization with more than 5,000 volunteers, Dr. Alsharif champions peace, education, and public health for all. His leadership and vision have inspired countless individuals to serve their communities.

Dr. Alsharif’s contributions have been recognized through numerous prestigious honors, including the World Peace Award, the Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers of Canada, recognition as an Ottawa City Builder, 3 years as a face of volunteer for Faces Ottawa, top 25 immigrant awards , United Way Volunteer Awards, and permanent recognition on Ottawa City Hall’s Wall of Distinguished Volunteers, and many others.

Dr. Alsharif embodies the true spirit of volunteerism. His lifelong commitment to humanitarian service, both locally and globally, has transformed lives and continues to inspire others to work toward peace and compassion.
