Bright Generation Football Academy is a community-based youth development project located in South Ghazieh, Lebanon. Founded two years ago, the academy has continuously grown as a community initiative focused on youth development through sport. The academy uses football as a tool for education, inclusion, healthy living, and personal growth. It provides structured training sessions for children and teenagers, focusing not only on athletic performance but also on discipline, teamwork, emotional well-being, and life skills.
During difficult periods in the region, including times of instability and conflict, the academy continued to serve as a safe space where children could stay active, connected, and emotionally supported. As schools shifted partially to online learning and many children spent long hours at home using phones and electronic devices, the need for physical activity and healthy social interaction became even more urgent.
In response, the academy expanded its impact beyond its facilities by visiting shelters for displaced families, where sports and recreational activities were organized for children. These activities helped restore a sense of normal life, reduce stress, encourage movement, and provide emotional relief during challenging circumstances.
The academy also ensures equal access to sport by offering free registration and supported participation for children from low-income families, making sure that financial barriers do not prevent any child from joining the programs.
The project is guided by the belief expressed in its motto: “Together we inspire a better world through football.”
The academy also collaborates with local organizations, including Benaa Association, which contributed support and helped provide opportunities for youth engagement within the academy.
The goal of the project is to empower children and youth in South Ghazieh through football by creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that promotes education, discipline, resilience, and social development.
The project also responds to a growing health challenge in society. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a large percentage of children and adults do not engage in sufficient physical activity, which increases the risk of health problems and diseases. Through regular sports participation and active lifestyles, the academy aims to encourage healthier habits from an early age and build a stronger, more active community.
By using football as a tool for positive change, Bright Generation Football Academy seeks to inspire a better future and fulfill its vision: “Together we inspire a better world through football.”
