Samta Nyay Kendra is an initiative of the Association of Professional Social Workers & Development Practitioners (APSWDP), running since 2021. It was initiated by a team of social work professionals and youth with the vision of promoting social justice, legal awareness, equality, empowerment and access to rights among vulnerable and underserved communities.

The initiative was started under the leadership of Mrs. Rekha Trivedi, who played an important role in establishing the project and bringing together professionals and young volunteers to work towards community empowerment and social justice.

Samta Nyay Kendra is one of the key verticals through which APSWDP works towards social development, community empowerment and social justice. The initiative focuses on creating awareness about rights, connecting people with appropriate support and services, encouraging community participation, and empowering individuals and communities to address social challenges.

Over the years, the project has grown through the active involvement of social work professionals, youth volunteers, community members and partner organisations. It provides a platform for people to understand their rights, access guidance and support, and become more empowered to address issues affecting their lives.

For the last two years, the initiative has been led and supervised by Ankita Rani, who has been actively coordinating its activities, youth and volunteer engagement, outreach efforts, documentation and overall implementation, with continued support from the APSWDP team and associated stakeholders.

The project continues to work towards building a more aware, inclusive, empowered and socially just community.

5. Youth Engagement – Involve young people in social justice, community development and volunteer-led initiatives.
6. Strengthen Access to Services – Facilitate linkages with government departments, institutions and relevant support organisations.
7. Build an Inclusive Society – Contribute towards a more equitable, aware, participatory and inclusive community.
